Energy shouldn’t be complicated. Our goal is simple: 'build a renewable system that’s reliable, affordable, and sustainable and able to stand alone at a neighbourhood scale, not just for the planet, but for the people using it every day!
Clean Energy Reimagined
Led by Future Habitats, GEN brings together a national consortium of innovators committed to designing a smarter, fairer, and more resilient local energy future. The project is developing and demonstrating a Mutual Energy Aggregator model—a scalable framework for community-based energy systems that combine solar generation, long-duration storage, and advanced energy management tools. At its core, GEN aims to prove that clean, affordable, and reliable energy can be produced, shared, and governed locally—empowering communities to take ownership of their energy transition.
